You don't have to play tennis to
have a tennis
elbow. Repetitive use of
your wrist (such as using a screw driver or typing) can
cause an overload of the tendon which inserts into the
outside and back of the elbow. This can be excruciatingly
painful and patients often present with severe weakness of
the affected arm. Some people even struggle to lift a pint
glass! In any case of elbow pain the
chiropractor will always assess the neck
and upper back as this
may be the actual cause of the pain. Especially if patients
get pain in both elbows, do we expect to see a central
problem - usually in the neck. Elbow pain can be very stubborn and may last for years if it is not treated properly. Whatever the injury to the elbow, the chiropractor will tell you why it is happening and treat all the areas involved, so the elbow will heal in the quickest possible time. |
